Navatek has a significant range of experience with optimization algorithms to aid in decision making during engineering design. The wide range of tools that Navatek has employed in engineering design allows for adaptation to new and complex problems. Some optimization tools used by Navatek include:
- Optimization Search Algorithms: With experience using algorithms of both numerical type (Method of steepest decent, Newton’s method, etc.) and population type (Partial Swarm, Evolutionary Algorithms); Navatek can adapt optimization techniques to address a wide range of design problems.
- Human Intent Modeling and Uncertainty Modeling: Navatek has worked with fuzzy logic to interpret complex objective functions in an optimization environment, and also worked with probability theory to lead to robust design decisions under uncertain conditions.
- Multi-Disciplinary Optimization (MDO): MDO has been used by Navatek to provide objective tradeoff analysis in situations where competing design goals influence the final decision.
